What is Spirit Whispers? Spirit Whispers represents our belief that Journey can provide a safe space for people to explore their spirituality. We feel no need to convince you of anything. Instead, we hope to offer you an opportunity to explore your connection with the divine through your own creative expression. We are looking for people who consider themselves creative and spiritual, but who are not, at present, involved in or seeking a church. The project will be held on Sunday afternoons in January and February, with each session lasting around 2 hours.

What is my role in Spirit Whispers?

Participate in three short, taped interviews (probably 15 to 20 minutes each, held at a place that is convenient to you)

•    The first interview in the fall of 2007
•    The second interview the week following the last Spirit Whispers session
•    The third interview one month following the last Spirit Whispers session

Participate in Spirit Whispers by exploring God metaphors through your own creative expression. In the next column is the structure each Spirit Whispers session will follow:

•    Multi-media exploration of a God metaphor   20 minutes (We'll provide a mix of visual arts, music and film.)
•    Arts Expressions Classes   80 minutes (You'll have a choice of two arts options for each session. Some of our offerings include photography, mime, creative writing, collage, dance, painting, drawing, design, mosaic, bookmaking, and art from nature.)
•    Sharing Session (voluntary)   20 minutes (If you wish, you can share with the other participants your creative work and thought.)

Spirit Whispers Gallery Opening this Monday (March 17th): During the eight sessions of Spirit Whispers, creative offerings abounded! They will be displayed during our gallery opening on Monday night, March 17th, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Join us as we celebrate the creative expressions of our Spirit Whispers participants.

From 6:30 until 7:30 p.m., those who created visual arts will speak about their work and receive responses from viewers. During the remaining time, those in the performing arts will share their gifts.
